History Of SDAC
Introduction
The establishment of national accreditation bodies has become very important and an urgent matter. Indeed, accreditation represents the main pillar in the quality system that connects the various elements of such system such as Standardization, Metrology and Conformity Assessment in a cohesive system. In this way, confidence in the results issued by conformity assessment bodies, such as laboratories, inspection and certification bodies would be boosted. A national accreditation system that is based on international systems would pave the way for signing mutual and multilateral recognition agreements with regional and international accreditation organizations for obtaining international recognition.
Eventually, such international recognition would lead to the achievement of one of the most important requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO),namely the elimination of technical barriers to trade. Such objective can be achieved through the unification of conformity assessment procedures and the prevention of duplication for saving time and reducing cost. All these measures should lead to a smooth transit of commodities to external markets. In addition, accreditation is one of the major global tools that can be used by decision and policy makers to ensure the confidence of the public through its role in promoting the economy and the services of health, security and safety.
