The Minister of the Council, Mr. Ahmed Saad Omar, directed the Sudanese Accreditation Council to move forward in vigorous steps to develop the quality system due to its great role in increasing the competitiveness of the Sudanese industry, not only at the local level, but also in opening foreign markets to Sudanese products He called for intensifying the media message related to accreditation, raising awareness and enlightening the relevant segments on the importance of accreditation in supporting the economy and consumer protection. This came when he chaired on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Council of Ministers the meeting of the Sudanese Accreditation Council, which reviewed the 2017 plan of the Council presented by Dr. Kamal Al-Hadi, General- Secretary of the Council, which aims to improve the quality of national goods and services in support of the national economy and enhance the efficiency of conformity assessment bodies, achieve international recognition and attract distinguished cadres qualified in the field of accreditation, as well as strengthening the relationship of the Council with relevant international organizations and Arab bodies. The meeting praised the plan, stressing the need to establish a system that meets the requirements for accreditation and to obtain the technical support required to develop its activities and the importance of arranging and preparing for the accreditation of national conformity assessment bodies, with priority given to laboratories.
