The Ministers of Council, in its regular meeting today, headed by Omar Hassan al-Bashir, President of the Republic of Sudan, approved the draft law of the Sudanese Accreditation Council submitted by Mr. Ahmed Saad Omar, Minister of the Council. This law comes in implementation of the decisions of the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining, which was established by the Arab Accreditation.
Dr. Omar Mohamed Salih, General – Secretary of the Council of Ministers, said that the law aims to achieve mutual dependence between Arab countries and facilitate international recognition, pointing out that the Sudanese Accreditation Council is concerned with ensuring the quality and efficiency of bodies working in the field of conformity assessment in testing laboratories and the accuracy of international rules and standards. In addition, the Council grants a certificate to the bodies qualified in accordance with this law.
During the meeting Omar Saleh explained that, the Article (19) of the Standards and Metrology Law was canceled, which used to grant this authority to the accreditation committee; indicating that the draft law will be deposited in the National Assembly after it has been approved.
